Mental health has many stigmas. Unlike medical issues, mental issues are often laden with misinformation, assumptions, complexities and shame. Stigmas include the idea that mental illnesses aren’t really organic, or that those who have them lack behavioral, spiritual or moral disciplines. Assumptions are made that therapy is “just talking”, without science or proven treatments. Medications may be seen as only covering, not curing the problems and relegated to those who are not strong enough to cope. These stigmas and many more are hurtful and destructive to all of us, because we are all affected by mental health.

The Silent Auction will begin the week before the event.  Donations are appreciated.  We will continue to keep registrants informed with the latest information! Funds raised will go to help under resourced individuals and families have access to discounted services.

Livestream Event Details:

• In response to the Coronavirus containment efforts, Wellspring will be hosting our Shattering the Stigma event as an Online Community Mental Health Conversation. 

• The date of the event is April 30th!

• We will broadcast the event live by both livestream on our website, on Facebook and on the radio through LifeFM, 90.9. 

• Our silent auction will be open for bidding by text and online, starting one week prior to the event.

• The event itself will include a Pre-show to conclude our silent auction bidding, to highlight our sponsors, expo vendors, ministry partners and others, and to count-down the start of our event.

• The Program itself will include well-known author and speaker Dr. Ed Stetzer, videos, and dynamic dialogue with our panelists and our listeners.

• The event will now be free, with donations appreciated. 

• Registration is strongly encouraged for this free event so that we have the following contact information: 1) Your phone number to send you an easy link to bid on our silent auction by phone (we will not use this for anything other than this event). 2) Your email address so that we can alert you to the date of the event and send you a digital version of our Shattering the Stigma Magazine. Register here.

• We hope that you will host a watch party with a small group (no more than 10!) of your friends and family in your own home. The Pre-show should be a fun time to encourage each other to bid on items, to enjoy food and fellowship and to prepare to watch the event together.
